Nearly Halfway Done Wth Chicken Range & Tick Barrier

I am still working on the chicken fence which will allow the chickens to free range in safety. Chickens eat bugs, including ticks. This will give me a safe area to work in. My visitors can then visit without fear of lymes disease.

I am almost halfway done with the chicken fence now. It is a huge job because I have to clear out trees, brush, shrubs and debris.

There are a lot of fallen trees and branches out here on the forest floor that have to be cleared out before I can run my fence through.

I am clearing as I go. This makes it so much easier to work because I can clearly see the line of the fence and see where I want it to go through the woods.

I tack on a few feet. Clear out a path. Tack on some more fence. Clear a path. And son on.

I have about 450 feet of fence up now. I figure this is about halfway done. I am estimating between 1,000 and 1,200 feet of fence around the entire meadow and extending into the woods a bit on each side.

This will give my chicken about 2.5 acres of land to free range on.

After the chicken wire is up I will run electric fence lines outside the chicken wire. This will stop predators from getting in.
