Setting Up Harbor Freight 45 Watt Solar Panel Kit

I got a second hand HF 45 watt solar panel kit off craigslist the other day and put it together. I also have another brand new kit that I got at a deep discount that I just put together. These together should help improve my tiny house off grid solar power.

The used set is an older version with rugged metal framing and no tool setup. It is a good set for camping or for moving around with because you simply put it all together without any tools. It goes together and comes apart in minutes.

I was going to assemble this inside until I realized that it is so easy and the panels themselves hold it all together.

I then put together my brand new Harbor Freight 45 watt solar panel kit inside the tiny home.

I assembled the frame inside and then took it out. I then put the solar panels on as well.

Next I connected the solar charge controller that comes with the kit. This is not connected to my off grid tiny house solar forklift battery bank. It is not much power but on rainy or cloudy days 45 watts of power is better than nothing.

I also hooked up one of the CCFL lamps that comes with the kit. I now have light in the off grid solar battery and rain water shed.
