Moving Forklift Battery & Cleaning Off Grid Battery Shed

Chris and I moved the heavy forklift battery out of the battery shed using a cherry picker (engine hoist). We cleaned out the shed so that construction can continue.

I got the idea to move the huge 750 pound forklift battery using the engine hoist I got from harbor freight about two years ago. The idea was to lift it off the ground most of the way and then use brute force to push it out of the battery shed a bit at a time.

This actually worked better than I had thought. We only had one near accident where the battery tried to tip over and hit a chair. Fortunately the engine hoist held its ground and kept the battery from falling over all the way.

Chris and I worked the engine hoist and got the battery where we wanted it to stay for now. Just outside the off grid battery and rain water shed.

Next we spent a while cleaning out the shed as it had become a catch all during the time since I started to build it.

We removed all the survival gear, tools and gardening equipment. Then Chris swept the floor for me to work in there better.

Next I put more cement blocks and jacks under the 800 pound golf cart battery bank that sits on the back of the off grid tiny house trailer.

Now the battery bank is fully supported on six points of contact and should be safe for the long term.
