Saturday ~ Cleaning Up The Off Grid Homestead

Saturday is homestead cleaning day. I spent the entire day cleaning up the off grid homestead, but I got the pile of garbage hauled away finally.

This land was a dumping ground before I bought it and I am still spending time cleaning it up. I also have a lot of construction materials piled up for building my tiny house on wheels.

At 9 in the morning my neighbor helped me haul out a load of garbage to the dump. This took all morning to load, drive to the dump and then unload the truck. By the time we got back it was lunch time.

I had my lunch break and then got back to work at the garbage pile. My friends had helped me clean up the yard two weeks ago and I am taking it all to the dump.

I sorted the entire pile and composted paper, cardboard and leaves. Other normal trash went into the trash can. Large garbage went to the dump.

Finally at the end of the day, as the sun was setting, I finished the job.

The mechanics gave me a battery for my Jeep but it had a hole in it and leaked out in my car trunk. My Jeep still has no good battery. I will have to wait for payday to get the Jeep on the road again now.
