Last Day In Ireland Ocean Views From The Mountain Top

The last day I did any video recording was on our trip to Dursey Island on the farthest SW tip of Ireland. We did not take the cable car out to the island though but instead we climbed the nearby mountain to the top so we could get some spectacular views of the area around.

The drive itself was quite beautiful with scenery of the ocean along the cliffs as we drove along. I also got a lot of photos of old stone buildings. Some in decay and some in good condition.

Out at Dursey Island, we stood at the base of the cable car and I got some photos from a board which describes the history of the land.

We then climbed a long time up to the top of a mountain. This was a rugged mountain full of rocks and grass. Sheep grazed all around us as we climbed. Most of the area I visited in Ireland is covered in sheep pasture.

The view from the top of the mountain was spectacular. You could see for miles around. The perfect blue ocean water crashed at the foot of the cliffs with much power.

You can see how the ocean water has eroded the land through the centuries, tearing out huge chunks of mountain.

The wind is insane up there. Ireland could really tap into wind power if they wanted to because of the near constant wind. I only saw a very few wind turbines in Ireland though during my stay. More on sailboats than anywhere else.

I will greatly miss Ireland. Honestly I did consider getting a plot of land overlooking the ocean where I could live in peace and enjoy the beauty every day. Living on fish and seaweed while growing a few vegetables and raising chickens sounds pretty nice.

Thank you again Goliath Mann for such an awesome trip.
