Trying Out A New Bug Out Bag

I have a new bug out bag I am trying. I prefer a bug out bag with many separate compartments rather than one single place to jam all your stuff into. The compartments make it easier to find things and better for a bug out situation.

If you are in a survival situation and your camp gets overrun then a compartmentalized bug out bag is better because you may have to grab the bag and leave in a hurry. With a single compartment BOB you may lose most, if not all, of your gear. With a compartmentalized BOB you would only lose the things that you had out at the time.

This makes replacing your gear easier of course because you have less to replace.

A compartmentalized BOB is also good in wet weather conditions. One compartment may become wet but the chances of all your gear getting wet are reduced with the separate compartments.

My first impressions of this bug out bag are that it seems well made. The material is thick and it has a waterproof coating inside.

It is covered in MOLLE webbing which is very good for a bug out bag. You can put all kinds of extra gear on this bag.

The backpack has three separate pouches that you can remove at will. This is very good for storing different types of equipment that you use daily. When you bug out just put the pouches back on the BOB and go.

The larger middle removable pouch comes with a shoulder strap or waist strap which makes it quite versatile on its own. You would normally pay $30 just for this bag.

I will be putting all my bug out gear into this new bag and give it a full workout in the coming weeks.

I will let you know what I think after the hardcore testing is finished.
