Setting Up Tiny Home Office & Bitter Cold Temps

I am completing my move to the off grid tiny house loft as my office. I moved my laptop and power up to the study and tried it out.

I am also planning to put some multiple voltage power outlets in the study/office for projects and experiments. I have the Harbor Freight solar charge controller that comes with the solar panel kit. I am using that as a charging station and power outlet. It has two 12 volt cigarette lighter sockets. It has two plug in 12 volt sockets for LED lights that come with the kit. And it has a 3 volt and a 6 volt outlet. Plus it comes with a multi ended power adapter to fit various devices. Over all its a pretty cool device. To top it all off, it has a digital volt meter which will be good to have in the tiny house study so I can monitor the voltage at any given time without going downstairs.

I have still been organizing books and sorting out what goes into the office in the tiny house loft. The living room table has been my office all this time until now. In order to not junk up the office i am working things in slowly.

It was bitter cold outside with temperatures dropping more and more. The wind was brutal with gusts up to 40 mph and real temperatures falling to -7 degrees F. This gave an estimated wind chill of -30 degrees F. So I stayed inside for the most part other than caring for the animals.

It was a beautiful sunny day for a while which blew out my power when the batteries went into absorption mode. Glassmat batteries absorption mode voltage is higher than my power inverter high voltage cut off range. So the inverter went out just as I finished setting up power to my office.

Later in the evening I was able to work on the computer a while and enjoyed working in my new tiny home loft study. It feels good to be working in my new tiny house office. I had a vision long ago to have a tiny house on wheels with a bedroom and a study which is also an office and a guest room. The vision has finally become a reality and it sure feels good.
