Cleaning Day At The Off Grid Homestead

From now on Saturday will be off grid homestead cleaning day. Due to the fact that I build everything out of recycled materials, this place can look a bit trashed with time. So I have decided to set aside my Saturdays to clean up the homestead as needed.

Since I broke my rib after cutting down the trees, they were laying all over the place. I finally feel well enough to cut them up and stack them in piles in the sun to dry. They are quite wet really since I cut them when the sap was still flowing. They will take some time to cure.

For this day I cleaned up in front of the tiny house on wheels. It was very hot and humid and a hard day of work. But now when I look out the tiny house windows I see my meadow and nothing else.

I moved out all the construction waste and piles of scrap wood and lumber. I cleaned up in front of the tiny house as well. Now all you see are my solar panels and the tiny house on wheels.

Next Saturday I want to clean up in front of and around the RV. I will also clean up the RV porch. This has become a winter storage area for things that I use a lot. I want to clean it up and be able to sit out there again.

From now on Saturday will be yard and garden maintenance days as well. Mowing the lawn or weeding the garden will be done on Saturdays moving forward.

Now I can walk in front of the tiny house with my head held high and not in shame like before. I cant wait to get the rest of the meadow cleaned up.

I have one large problem though. The wood that I use must be out in the sun or it never dries off. It stays wet and rots. Even under tarps it rots if out in the woods under the trees.

I have to keep my construction materials out in the meadow. It is the only place I have that gets sun during the day. I just need to figure out a better, not so visible place to store it.
