Free DIY Double Pallet Wood Composting Bins

When the boys were over the other day they wanted to build something. So I asked them to build a double pallet composting bin, which they did quite well.

I will use one side of the composting bin this year. Next year I will use the other side and let the first side complete the composting process.

The third year I can empty the first side, which will then contain the finest fertile soil money can buy.

With a two year rotation plan like this I will always have good compost for planting or for use as fertilizer every year.

Everything organic goes into the compost bin from leaves to grass clippings to dead animals and kitchen scraps. Paper, cardboard and many other organic materials can also go into the compost bin.
