The previous day I was working on my websites during the rain. Today I am tapping my maple trees to process maple syrup.

It was pouring rain pretty hard all day so I worked on my websites the whole day. I forgot to add these video clips to the last video so here they are.

The next day was supposed to be sunny and warm but someone forgot to tell the sun. It was dark and gray and there were snow flurries.

I had planned to tap my maple trees anyway so I went out and got to work on it. I have found many more maple trees than I had located last year so I am tapping seriously this year.

I also have 100 taps that I had ordered last year so I have enough supplies to really get serious.

The maple season started early this year because the weather has been mild. The professionals have already tapped their trees. So I figured I had better get to it now then.

I tapped a bunch of trees and cleaned all my gear to get it ready for the maple syrup harvest. I have buckets, taps and hoses to wash and get ready.

Tomorrow I hope to get started on building my sugar shack out of wood pallets and build my maple syrup evaporator out of stainless steel pans and a wood stove.

I had an awesome meal on the wood stove. I tossed in some rice, potatoes, onions, garlic, chicken breasts and brussels sprouts for a really amazing meal. The dutch oven and the wood stove make for a perfect slow cooker.
