Gardening At The Off Grid Homestead

Melanie and I have been hard at work in the garden at the off grid homestead this spring. We hope to provide all the food we need for the entire year.

We have been preparing the garden area to get ready for planting. But first we need to remove all the herbs and plants that I had planted out there two years ago. We are moving all the herbs into the rock gardens in front of the tiny house on wheels.

This is taking a lot of time because these plants grew well in the past years and the rock garden is - well - rocky. Digging is hard going out there.

I want to till the entire garden area this year and then start all over new again. We will have mulched pathways in between the garden rows this year to keep weeds out.

It took us the entire day to get the plants out and get the tarps and some of the old wood walkways out of the garden. We still have a lot of work to do but we will get it done in time for planting.
