Using Free Mulch On The Homestead Grapes & Berries

Melanie and I are hard at work in the garden this year. We hope to provide all the food we need for the entire year. I am currently mulching the fruit and berry plants out here at the off grid homestead.

Last fall I got two dump truck loads of free mulch from the local tree service. They were trimming trees along the power lines for the local utility company.

They dumped off two loads for me when they were in the area.

I let it compost all this time. Now it is very nice, partly composted mulch for the garden.

I am spreading it on the grape vines and berry plants for now. Next will be the fruit trees out in the meadow.

I hope to also be able to mulch the walkways in between the garden rows.

Melanie is busy prettying up the place. I got her come cactus plants and she put one in a pot and make it look nice.
