Scorching HOT & Slow Going At The Off Grid Homestead

It has been in the 90s and humid all week. Work is going a lot slower and we are constantly taking breaks and rehydrating in this unseasonable heat.

Chris and I could not get the trailer tire fixed because it was so badly dry rotted that we could not get it to seat on the rim. So I bought a new trailer tire at TSC and took it into a local shop to mount it for me.

Unfortunately it took them over an hour to mount the tire for us. We stood out in the sun waiting the entire time because generally a tire change takes about five minutes. This really cut into our day a lot.

But eventually we got back to the homestead and Chris put the new tire on the trailer and off we went working with the trailer behind the garden tractor.

I have an egg incubator up in the off grid tiny house loft so I have to leave the power inverter on 24/7 now to keep it running. I do not believe it takes much power at all to run the heating element and digital display though. It is not taking down our battery bank too badly over night.

We plan to raise chickens and sell them this year finally. That is why we have been building so many chicken coops this year.
