Homestead Gardening ~ Enjoying Harvest ~ Off Grid Solar
Work on the off grid homestead garden continues but we are also enjoying the fruit of our labors with each dinner in our tiny house on wheels. The solar power system is doing well.
I found a truck load of free pallets and brought them home. We use pallets for many things around here from kitchen cabinets to fencing to building sheds and much more. We only use HT = Heat Treated pallets out here at the off grid homestead.
Later I got another load of mulch from the decaying mulch pile and put it along one of the pathways between the garden rows. I hope to mulch all the pathways to prevent weeds, retain moisture and provide nutrients for the garden.
Melanie has been harvesting various foods from the garden every day now. She loves to eat fresh vegetables from our own garden and often cooks with our own produce now. We eat whatever is ripe each day.
Soon more and more vegetables are going to be ready and we will be overloaded with fresh produce from our own off grid homestead garden.
The new power inverter is serving us well. I have not turned off the inverter or the internet since it was installed by Phillip on his visit about a week earlier.
I am cutting oak slabs from a tree I cut down to use as pavers for a garden walkway from the tiny house to the garden. The walkway will be about three pavers wide and fill the area along the walkway. I will put mulch in between the pavers to prevent weed growth.
This will take some time though and I will be cutting the oak slabs in my free time and during cooler hours of the day.
We received a package in the mail from our friend Bison from YouTube. His channel is Buggingin and he reviews survival gear and loves to explore the outdoors.
We got two AC powered fans that we can use for the tiny house on wheels. Melanie was very excited about the fans. Thank you Bison.
We also got a whole bunch of survival gear including a Leatherman for each of us. I plan to go through the package and some of the survival items in more detail later.
Thanks for watching. Please Subscribe & follow my daily videos.
