Cleaning Off Grid Homestead & Tying Up Grape Vines

We are really cleaning up the off grid homestead this spring. Chris is cutting fire wood while I am tying up the grape vines.

Chris has been running the chop saw to cut up pallet wood scraps for burning next year to heat the off grid tiny house on wheels. This is all clean heat treated oak pallet wood. There is some pine in there which is great for kindling and stoking up the fire in a hurry.

I spent the entire day cleaning up around one half of the grape vines and putting up stakes and string. Then I strung up the grape vines along the string to train them along the lines I put up.

This will keep the grapes off the ground and allow them to get a lot more sunlight this year. We will have some grapes this year which is quite exciting. Last year I did not yet have any grapes.
