What Happened To The Loggers & New Plans

Many of you have been asking what happened to the loggers that were supposed to clear out the side of the meadow and expand our yard area. Here are your answers.

The loggers had only taken our about 4 cords of wood from our property. They did not work very often but that was not their primary job anyway.

They were going to clear out a 50 foot deep strip of the trees along the side of the meadow to give use more sunlight on the solar panels and hopefully give us better air flow. Plus it will give us space for the animals.

But they left a while back and told us that we had to clear out all the smaller trees, tree tops and brush that they left behind before they would come back. They said that if we did all that, maybe they would return again.

So I went out and started to cut some trees but my one chainsaw is a Poulan and it does not like the heat at all. The other was a one year old Homelite which sadly burnt up on a 98 degree day after felling just 4 small trees.

I am looking for a good forestry chain saw for felling trees. We plan to clear out the rest of the area ourselves now. I will no longer be messing around with cheap chain saws that burn up or quit on you soon.

Chris has been working out in the woods dropping little trees with the Ryobi reciprocating saw and a pruning blade. He is piling up the trees in neat piles and even clearing out the forest floor.

He has made a lot of nice wood piles and has put a nice dent in the woods out there.

It really looks good over there now. I can see how our walk through gardens will appear when we get working on them next year.
