Hello, and welcome to this discussion on the double-slit experiment in quantum physics and its connection to the idea that all matter is made of consciousness. The double-slit experiment is a classic experiment that demonstrates the wave-particle duality of matter, specifically at the level of sub atomic i.e. the quantum level. In this experiment, single electrons are fired at a screen with two slits which pass through the slits and then impact a backboard.

As the electrons pass through the slits and strike the backboard, an interference pattern appears. Similar to what would be caused by two intersecting rippling wave patterns on a still body of water. The magical part of the experiment occurs when a detector that measures which slit each electron passes through is introduced...the interference pattern begins to change.

At this point the electrons change their state from superposition and impact the backboard as particles, not waves. This phenomenon is known as the observer effect, the act of measurement or observation affects the behavior of the particles.

The idea that all matter has consciousness is not a new one. In fact, it has been proposed by many spiritual and philosophical traditions throughout history.
