On February 20th Liberal Senator for Queensland Gerard Rennick asked the ‘asleep at the wheel’ regulator for Australia’s blood supply, the National Blood Authority, why it was that the Australian Red Cross Lifeblood, the managers of Australia’s blood supply, did what no other blood bank in the world did during the AIDS crisis and choose to advertise in sexually explicit publications to appeal for blood donors during the AIDS crisis.
