“HOLD (something) AGAINST (someone) = is a way to talk about a prejudice that someone has. It is a little similar to the word grudge. When you HOLD something AGAINST someone, you remember something bad that they did or some fault that they have and you use that to justify avoiding them. Avoiding listening to them avoiding speaking to them etc.
In this episode, we learn the meaning of “hold against” by practicing how to use “hold against” with several examples of “hold against” in sentence and context.
