In "Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania", there's plenty to do. Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), and Hope van Dyne, (Evangeline Lilly), have been busy caring for their loved ones in a post "Endgame" world. In "Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania", there's plenty to do. Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), and Hope van Dyne, (Evangeline Lilly), have been busy caring for their loved ones in a post "Endgame" world. She shows her invention to Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton), a grown-up Cassie Lang who accidentally transports the Ant-Family to the Quantum Realm, an infinite, microscopic universe that defies time and space laws.
"Quantumania", which is not only the beginning of Phase 5, but also a introduction to the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Kang the Conqueror, Jonathan Majors, and the next chapter in the Multiverse Saga. As with any Marvel movie, there were always plans and ambitions that changed. A set photo taken by a child actor was recently posted online. Many speculated that there was an deleted scene in which Hope's children were involved. These theories turned out to be correct.
Jeff Loveness, screenwriter for "Quantumania", spoke to Film's Ethan Anderton about deleted scenes in the film. He specifically mentioned the scene with Hope and her children that was cut from the film.
"Oh, yes [...] There are always plot lines and things that don't work in the flow of the movie. I don't know what I can say because I may pick up some of it later. But that was part the multiversal engine core that is the probability storm part. Hope would have seen visions of her alternate lives For those who don't know, Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfieffer), was trapped in the Quantum Realm for many years. She helped Kang to build a multiverse transport device. After realizing that Kang had darker motives, she demolished the multiversal engine core with Pym Particles. Kang offers Cassie safety in exchange for Scott's participation in the power core. Scott must brave the probability storm, which is one of the most memorable sequences in the film. Scott must drown out all manifestations of his possible choices. This cleverly mirrors the end of "Antz", a 1998 animated movie.
Jeff Loveness says that Hope was supposed to have a unique experience when she tried to save Scott from the probabilistic storm. Loveness said that Scott's experience was more like a Schrodinger's cat. "Hope's original had a little more psychological element. It was like she was hitting the fumes from the multiverse and catching glimpses of things. Scott was down below her in the storm's upper strata.
Hope would receive visions of her future, alternate lives and her doubles instead of seeing them physically manifest before her. This is where Hope and her children would have been. It's Very Possible That We Haven't Completed With The Ant-Fam It's quite compelling that Scott and Hope experience two distinct phenomena during the probability storm. So why didn’t it make the final cut. Jeff Loveness admitted that it was too much information to be digested at once.
"But it was ultimately a little confusing. It was confusing, like why do they have two completely different events? It's my fault for not being clear enough as a writer. [Evangeline] Lilly did an amazing job. There are many good Hope things that I think I will explore in the future. Evangeline is a very expressive actress and has a lot of emotion. It was fantastic, but I'm partially responsible. That's my fault. It was easier to simplify it to include more of the fun sequence. This made it in.
It's unfortunate that Hope only made it to the end of Quantumania, despite sharing half the film's title. The film covers a lot of ground, but it's already too long. It's easy to see why Loveness didn't think it was worth it. The movie contained material that could have made the film feel less essential than it was. This is only the beginning of the Multiverse Saga....
