The Lindlahr Sanitarium

In the old days, the word sanitarium wasn't associated with a mental ward as it later became. Instead, many sanitariums were associated with a place to get healthy. Charles Lindlahr wrote the book titled, "Nature Cure", which has been regarded as the Naturopathic Bible in contemporary naturopathic medical schools. Although, much of the philosophy is being watered down with the merger of this new "integrative approach" which is combining natural medicine with allopathic medicine. A true integrative approach is combining all of the holisitic styles of medicine - naturopathic, Chinese, homeopathic, mind-body, etc. If an allopath is in charge, such as with certain cancer centers, it will be the allopathic philosophy of treating disease that steers the ship. All others will become ancillary services, much like the deckhands of the ship.
