Former Disney CEO Bob Chapek announced just two days after the November 2022 Disney Earnings Call, that The Walt Disney COmpany would institute a hiring freeze and roll out a spate of layoffs with little details as to what those might look like. Kamran Pasha had the scoop almost 48 hours before this made public in major trade magazines via Disney press release.

On Nov 20th 2022, CEO Bob Chapek was abruptly terminated and his predecessor Bob Iger was reinstated as head of the Walt Disney company.

Funny enough, Robert Iger seemed to have little to no plans to alter course on the hiring freezes or layoffs, which we are NOW starting to see surface. Some of the folks affected are not what some might have expected however. DEI Recruiting personnel let go from Disney have begun to surface on places like LinkedIn.
