This week our conversation includes Cherie Stuhler, a strong advocate for children and someone who finds resources inside and beyond the school walls for those she advocates for. She is an individual who goes to work every day striving to make sure all children in school feel a sense of normalcy and safety, a sense of belonging and family – a sense of purpose.

Cherie earned her master’s degree in Education and continues to work in the Special Education field, for 17 years. She is passionate about ensuring a safe learning environment and high-quality education for all children.

Mrs. Stuhler states, “It is of utmost importance that our children learn the fundamentals in life: reading, writing, and arithmetic. However, it is also important to remember how crucial playing with other children and problem-solving are in developing healthy relationships.”. She further states, “we need to creatively engage with our community and ensure we are providing resources for all students to help them overcome the difficulty of the last few years and for many the trauma as a result of isolation. It is imperative that we work collaboratively and collectively to ensure we are providing a well-rounded high-quality education for all.”.

Cherie believes that parents not only have the right but the obligation to be involved in their child’s education. Transparency is the key to building trust which is foundational to creating a brighter future for children and families.
