Liberator and Enslaver of Women the Sewing Machine

There is no better item than the sewing machine to represent women and the triumphs and challenges of women's role in society. I have multiple vintage sewing machines including a treadle machine, a Singer with knee pedal as well as other vintage machines with foot pedals. We are currently working to restore them. In researching about how to restore them I have become fascinated with the history of sewing machines and have learned how much it has changed our society and brought about new industries.
