💬 LESSON DESCRIPTION:
Dominant 7th chords are a staple sound in jazz, blues, and other genres, from classical to pop.
In this lesson I'll show you 23 guitar scales you can play over dominant 7th chords that you can use to improvise cool solos in jazz, blues, and beyond.
There is no talking in this lesson, only demonstrations of the different guitar scales over a single dominant 7th chord loop that I make real time.
Some of these guitar scales are simple, some are quirky, some sound classic, and some sound very dissonant.
That’s the fun of it!
Knowing and being able to use a variety of guitar scales makes you a more creative and versatile improviser.
Improvising over just one dominant 7th chord encourages you to try original ideas, focus on phrasing, and break out of your typical licks or patterns.
