Dr. Wilmer Leon III, PhD joins me in a lively discussion about Politics, African American community and the radical tradition of African American scholarship. We talked about the importance and power of "the Collective." Had African American NFL players all taken a knee during the national anthem in support of Colin Kaepernick instead of protecting their own jobs and comfortable position in life, they could have sent a message to the NFL and Colin would still be playing in the NFL. In other words, if the African American football players are stuck together, the "Collective" would have empowered them. It's a powerful concept that can be applied to the "Peace Movement" today which is divided, ineffective and losing.
Wilmer is not only a scholar and political analyst, but hosts two radio shows: The Critical Hour with Garland Nixon (https://sputniknews.com/radio/), and Inside the Issues on SiriusXM Satellite radio channel 126)
Wilmer will be back soon to discuss his book: Politics: Another Perspective.
