Hi, I'm Josh with Dream Body Clinic, and in this video, I'm going to talk about our back pain treatment using mesenchymal stem cells. This is part of our series called The Ultimate Guide to Stem Cell Therapy, and it's our second most common treatment at the clinic.

The back is made up of three sections: the cervical spine, which is the neck area, the thoracic spine, which is the midsection, and the lumbar section, which is the lower back. These are considered separate treatments on our website, but it's rare for people to have more than one section damaged.

The lumbar section is our most common treatment, followed by the cervical spine, and the thoracic spine is less common. We see a wide range of issues, but in the lower back, we tend to see a lot of herniated discs which can cause numbness or tingling in the lower extremities and sciatic nerve pain called sciatica. We also see a lot of pain and tightness in the lower back and hip area.

In fact, a lot of people who think they have hip problems actually have issues with their lower back, specifically at the SI joint. With the cervical spine, we see a lot of neck pain, stiffness, and tightness, as well as pain in the arms and hands. We've had everything in between, from people who have experienced spinal compression from sports injuries to those who have sustained damage from everyday living.

We always start with an MRI, using a minimum of a 1.5 Tesla machine to get high-resolution images. We have a brand new GE 1.5 Tesla machine here that we typically use. After analyzing the images, we can see the extent of the damage and determine the best treatment options.

About three and a half years ago, I experienced a compressed disc and a herniated disc at L4-L. I tried to tough it out, but it got to the point where I was experiencing horrible pain, tightness in my lower back and hip, and eventually sciatica. I always thought people who complained about back pain were just being big babies, but when it hit me, it was unbearable.

I went for an MRI and then received our treatment, which consists of an IV of a hundred million stem cells. This gets through the whole system and helps with muscle retention and development. We've found that without the IV, people can hurt themselves again if they push themselves too hard.
