Canada: Federal minister Bill Blair announces B.C. disaster recovery funding – February 23, 2023

Federal Emergency Preparedness Minister Bill Blair makes an announcement on disaster recovery funding for British Columbia. He is joined at the news conference in Abbotsford by his provincial counterpart Bowinn Ma and city mayor Ross Siemens. A committee of federal and B.C. ministers on disaster response and climate resilience was struck in November 2021 to coordinate responses to extreme weather events in the province and to support recovery efforts from floods, wildfires, and landslides.
