Jurisdiction: The Law of Justice

Jurisdiction is the best word to describe how we function in the Kingdom of God. This is what I am seeing prophetically
for 2023: “Justice will bring forth Liberty, the Supreme Law of the Land will stand and Jurisdiction will be established,
making the crooked places straight.” This is now happening in the world around us.
Jurisdiction: To declare the law and administer justice. To “declare the law” is to declare the Word of God as the final
authority. We “administer justice” by walking in righteousness.
Law brings conviction, conviction brings justice, justice brings justification or judgment.
Justice and righteousness appear together in Scripture 38 times.
Righteousness: Strong’s #1343, dikaiosune (dik-ah-yos-oo-nay), just, the quality of being right. Broadly, the word
suggests conformity to the revealed will of God in all respects. It is both judicial and gracious. *W/W SFLB
Righteousness is a two-edged sword; grace and mercy on one side and justice and judgment on the other.
Justice: the process or result of using laws to fairly judge and punish crimes and criminals (Britannica Dictionary).
Justified: Strong’s # 1344, dikaioo (dik-ah-yo'-o); to show or regard as just or innocent: free, righteous. A legal term
signifying acquittal. Justification or condemnation will be based on our heart’s response to the Holy Spirit.
Hermeneutics is a method used for interpretation of Bible text. In hermeneutics is the “law of first usage.” This means
the first time we see a word or concept used in the Bible, that is the best way to interpret that concept throughout the
Bible. The first usage of “justice and righteousness” is when God speaks to Abraham about Sodom and Abraham
intercedes for Sodom.
Gen 18:16-21 Then the men rose from there and looked toward Sodom, and Abraham went with them to send them on
the way. 17 And the Lord said, "Shall I hide from Abraham what I am doing, 18 since Abraham shall surely become a
great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him? 19 For I have known him, in order that
he may command his children and his household after him, that they keep the way of the Lord, to do righteousness and
justice, that the Lord may bring to Abraham what He has spoken to him." 20 And the Lord said, "Because the outcry
against Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grave, 21 I will go down now and see whether they
have done altogether according to the outcry against it that has come to Me; and if not, I will know."
Gen 18:23-24 And Abraham came near and said, "Would You also destroy the righteous with the wicked? 24 Suppose
there were fifty righteous within the city; would You also destroy the place and not spare it for the fifty righteous that
were in it? 50 to 45 to 40 to 30 to 20 to “How about 10 Lord?” Unfortunately, not even 10 could be found.
God Loves Righteousness and Justice!
Ps 33:4-5 For the word of the Lord is right, And all His work is done in truth. 5 He loves righteousness and justice; The
earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.
Righteousness and Justice are the Foundation of God’s Throne! We will be exalted in God’s righteousness. God will be
glorified in the strength He gives us. We know the “joyful sound” the teruah!!! The great shout!!! God’s throne is His
place of authority. God releases His authority through righteousness and justice!
Ps 89:14-18 Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; Mercy and truth go before Your face. 15
Blessed are the people who know the joyful sound! They walk, O Lord, in the light of Your countenance. 16 In Your name
they rejoice all day long, And in Your righteousness they are exalted. 17 For You are the glory of their strength, And in
Your favor our horn is exalted. 18 For our shield belongs to the Lord, And our king to the Holy One of Israel.

Isa 51:4-5 "Listen to Me, My people; And give ear to Me, O My nation: For law will proceed from Me, And I will make My
justice rest As a light of the peoples. 5 My righteousness is near, My salvation has gone forth, And My arms will judge
the peoples; The coastlands will wait upon Me, And on My arm they will trust.
Isa 51:7-8 "Listen to Me, you who know righteousness, You people in whose heart is My law: Do not fear the reproach of
men, Nor be afraid of their insults. 8 For the moth will eat them up like a garment, And the worm will eat them like wool;
But My righteousness will be forever, And My salvation from generation to generation."
Justice and Righteousness Bring Blessings!
Ps 106:2-3 Who can utter the mighty acts of the Lord? Who can declare all His praise? 3 Blessed are those who keep
justice, And he who does righteousness at all times!
The Law of Justice in the Physical and the Spiritual Realms:
In the spiritual realm, the law (the Word of God) brings conviction of sin. In the physical realm, when we break the civil
law, we can be convicted of a crime. The Law of Justice brings accountability.
When conviction due to sin (spiritual realm) or a crime is committed (physical realm), God’s law of justice prevails.
Justice brings either justification (freedom) or judgment (bondage) in both realms.
In the spiritual realm when the law reveals sin through the Holy Spirit, if we repent and turn to Jesus, our sin is removed
and we become justified. The Supreme Judge Jesus Christ has found us “not guilty!”
In the physical realm, when we break the law, we stand before a judge who determines our fate; freedom or bondage.
What is in our Heart, we will Speak
Matt 12:34-37 For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. 35 A good man out of the good treasure of his
heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things. 36 But I say to you that
for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. 37 For by your words you will be
justified, and by your words you will be condemned."
Law brings conviction, conviction brings justice, justice brings justification or judgment.
Justified by Faith and the Blood of Jesus
Rom 5:1-2 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through
whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Rom 5:8-10 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much
more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.
The Humble will be Justified and Exalted. CAUTION! Self-righteousness brings judgment.
Luke 18:9-14 Also He spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised
others: 10 "Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood
and prayed thus with himself, 'God, I thank You that I am not like other men — extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even
as this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess.' 13 And the tax collector, standing afar off,
would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, 'God, be merciful to me a sinner!' 14 I tell you,
this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and
he who humbles himself will be exalted."
Humility is the greatest virtue in the Kingdom of God! Pride is a destroyer.
