1913: A Lot of Things Happened | Jeremy Ryan Slate

1913 was a pretty transformative year for America.

Constitutionally a Republic, 1913 was the year it became a Democracy.

How? There pretty substantial pieces of legislation passed:
- Income Tax
- The 17th Amendment, the Senate was no longer elected by state legislatures
- The Federal Reserve Act

In the life cycle of a Republic, we moved to the next phase which is Democracy.
