Most of Canada and the United States are covered in harsh winter weather.

A powerful winter storm that brought heavy snow and gusts of wind to large swaths of the United States is now hitting southern Ontario and Quebec. Meanwhile, the prairie provinces are experiencing a period of extreme cold that could last several days.
