"To give a rare glimpse into the mind of the framers of The United States of America, as they were attempting to emulate the happiness of these new Peoples who captivated them and welcomed them with open arms and open hearts and who held 500 years of total harmony and peace before the landing of these Europeans upon Turtle Island's shores.
Jefferson inherited 5000 slaves upon his plantation at Charlottesville Virginia. Jefferson did not want slaves, but in those days it would have been unlawful for him to release those slaves as those slaves would have surely suffered an untimely death had Jefferson attempted to free them as he wished to.
Jefferson saw in the Iroquois Nation a glimpse where women played an essential role in the upkeep and maintaining of the Iroquois Nation's People, whereby women held Great Counsel of the important decisions. Having grown up in the Iroquois Nation and meeting with the Seneca People I have had the great honor to comprehend that EVERYTHING that the women do they consider each and every action and the affects of how it will have and bear upon the next 7 generations to come. The Iroquois Nation's People are a very conscious People both intellectually and spiritually. I believe Jefferson wanted true and lasting freedom for all people, women and colored alike."
