The battles of Carnifex Ferry, Cheat Mountain and Lexington, MO take place between September 10-20th, 1861 resulting in two Union wins and one for the Confederates. This episode is significant for the Battle of Cheat Mountain being Robert E. Lee's first foray leading troops into battle.
