Persistence is necessary in any endeavor if you want to get to the top and win. You must overcome defeats, wanting to give up, wanting to chase a new path, and ultimately stay in the game long enough to be at the top and accumulate riches.
“PERSISTENCE is an essential factor in the procedure of transmuting DESIRE into its monetary equivalent. The basis of persistence is the POWER OF WILL.”
Though out the rest of the chapter Naopleon Hill goes on about how those who took defeat after defeat finally had their breakthrough. You will fail often on your road to success. The key is to keep trying and keep going at it.

The road to success is not easy and you will need to persist.
