Feeding Pumpkins to Farm Animals: Cattle, Sheep + Chickens
Fall on our farm means taking the opportunity to collect neighbours holiday decor: pumpkins, corn stalks, hay bales, etc. Anything organic that can easily break down or that can be safely consumed by our livestock. We offer this free of charge and visitors respect our property and livestock in the process.
Pumpkins are said to have anti parasitic properties and our animals do not mind munching away at them!
Check out what we did and notice the smiles this opportunity provided. This is what we love to see with our community!
Check out our website to shop food and other goods or read more about our regenerative farming practices in Southwestern Ontario, Canada. Agriculture is the backbone of our community and soil health, carbon sequestration and organic matter build up is wildly important to us. We rotationally graze our livestock to provide optimal animal husbandry including the reduction of parasitic issues.
