Video shows injured mountain biker airlifted off Cabrillo Highway, then transported to an ambulance

This afternoon, CHP H-30 responded with Pacifica Fire, AMR San Mateo County and an El Ceritto Fire Helicopter Rescue Technician to a report of an injured mountain biker in the hills above 4000 Cabrillo Highway.

As H-30 responded, firefighters made access to the rider and prepared him for hoist rescue. H-30 lowered the El Ceritto Fire Helicopter Rescue Technician (HRT) to the scene and placed the rider into a rescue bag.

The rider was hoisted from the trail and flown to a LZ at the trail head. The rider was transported by ambulance to a local trauma center with significant injuries.
