The Hyksos were an Asiatic tribe just like the Israelites, who sojourned in Egypt for about the same length of time as the biblical Israelites did. They lived in the same cities as the biblical Israelites. Built their homes in the same style as the biblical Israelites. And held the same level of power in Egypt as was ascribed to the biblical Israelites. They fled Egypt dramatically, pursued by the Pharaoh Ahmose II, and in numbers comparable to those described in the book of Exodus.
