Every year needs a Game of the Year. Often, by the end of the year, the dust has settled and there's a clear winner. But GOTY for 2022 was probably the closest, most hotly contended game of the year showdown ever as Elden Ring and God of War Ragnarok both stepped into the ring, two colossal Titans of gaming that had an absolute hysteria of hype and accolades behind them.
