Tim Corbin Interview
As the competition to get into top colleges and universities becomes increasingly fierce, some kids are committing to schools at an early age in the hopes of securing their spot. But is this really the best approach? In this video, a baseball coach shares his thoughts on the matter, arguing that it's too early for kids to commit to colleges.
With years of experience coaching young athletes, the coach has seen firsthand the pressure that kids are under to excel both academically and athletically. While he acknowledges that committing to a college early may seem like a good idea, he believes that it can actually do more harm than good in the long run.
According to the coach, committing to a college too early can limit a kid's options and make it harder for them to explore their interests and talents. It can also put an enormous amount of pressure on them to perform at a high level, both on the field and in the classroom. He also believes that at the age of 13 or 14 they may not have the same mindset they will have at 17 or 18! Instead, he suggests that kids focus on developing their skills and enjoying their sport without worrying too much about the future.
For parents and kids grappling with the decision to commit to a college early, this video offers some valuable insights and perspective. By listening to the experiences of a seasoned coach, viewers can gain a better understanding of the potential risks and rewards of committing to a school at an early age. So if you're a parent or a young athlete looking to make the most of your talents and opportunities, be sure to check out this thought-provoking video!
