This is the first chapter in a historical series that looks at the origins of the meatpacking industry in the United States. While I will go into far more details in future episodes, I wanted to give y'all an idea of how the rise in population and different war efforts throughout the United States led us to become the world leader in beef production. America truly was built on beef!
