This is the moment police officers and a K9 arrest four members of a gang of armed robbers who opened fire on them.

The footage shows the cops and police dog pursuing the suspects after they fled in Oklahoma City, in the US state of Oklahoma, and arresting four of them. A fifth suspect managed to evade arrest.

The police had located a stolen vehicle they say was used in an armed robbery where the victims were held at gunpoint.

The vehicle was located in a residential area and contained five people with at least three guns, the police said.

The footage shows the five suspects attempting to flee after the police pulled up next to the vehicle.

Four can be seen immediately getting out of the car and running while a fifth suspect appears to wait a moment before getting out and running in the opposite direction.

The police said that they saw that several of the suspects were armed with guns and that they fired less-lethal rounds at the suspects.

One suspect can be seen lying on the ground with his hands spread, with the images then showing a second suspect being taken down by a police dog.

The police then said that a third suspect then fired his gun at one of the police officers, who returned fire but did not hit him.

The third suspect and a fourth robber then reportedly continued to flee over garden fences to a nearby creek.

The two suspects can then be seen lying face down in the shallow waters of the creek as they are arrested by the police officers.

One police officer can then be seen asking a colleague to pick up three firearms the suspects had allegedly thrown on the ground.

The police said that a fifth suspect was not apprehended at that time.

Newsflash also obtained a written statement from the Oklahoma City Police Department dated Thursday, 16th February, saying that the incident took place on 24th January.

The statement also said that the incident began after the Oklahoma City Police Department (OKCPD) "located a stolen vehicle related to an armed robbery. When officers arrived, five individuals fled from the vehicle.

"Several of the suspects were armed with guns. In pursuit of the suspects, one officer fired a less-lethal launcher.

"While pursuing a suspect, Sergeant Ronnie Waugh saw the suspect point what appeared to be a gun at him. Sergeant Waugh discharged his firearm at the suspect. The suspect was not struck by any bullets and continued to flee.

"Four of the five suspects were apprehended and three guns were recovered.

"Sergeant Waugh was placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation."

The investigation is ongoing. It was unclear at the time of writing if the fifth suspect had been apprehended.
