Yes | 90125 [1983]

We've listened to a lot of Yes, and now we're turning our gaze to the later albums, in this case, 1983's 90125. This is Yes' 11th studio album, during a time where the band's lineup was in constant flux. This record began as a project with Chris Squire, Alan White, and Tony Kaye (who had not been with the group since 1971), and also guitarist & songwriter Trevor Rabin. Once a little bit into the project, Jon Anderson returned as lead vocalist. Which gives this album a distinctive Yesness, obviously.

Although it was initially going to be released under the band name Cinema, they later agreed to call it Yes. So for us, it's best to consider this as almost a Yes side group album, rather than an absolute Yes record. Featuring the biggest hit that any version of the band ever had- "0wner of a Lonely Heart", and a handful of other strong compositions including "Hold On", "Cinema" and "Hearts", the record was a big success. It's got a fun 80s sound, great production, and really solid songs.

Please let us know what you think of this record! We love comments.

Hope you enjoy! Thanks for watching :)
