Building Work Benches In Wood Shop With Reclaimed Materials

A friend of mine cleaned out a business and gave me the sales counters. I cut them shorter to use as work benches in my mobile wood shop on wheels.

I first cut them to 30 inches high to match the average work bench size in my wood shop. Then I cut them to fit inside the wood shop camper. The one bench had to be shortened by 6 inches and then it fit right in place. Then I put an 8 foot counter top onto the top of the work bench. This fit over the shortened sales counter and a folding work bench I already had in place.

Next I cut the taller sales counter to 30 inches and shortened it to fit inside the wood shop. This one is 6 feet long and 30 inches tall.

I then reinforced the bench using the scraps of lumber I had left over from shortening it.

Next I have to find some plywood to use as a counter top.

My off grid wood shop on wheels is coming along nicely.

Right now I have my drill press, scroll saw and miter saw on the one side. On the other side I will have my sander and other tools as needed. I can now work in here in comfort.

I am so excited that this day has finally come. I have dreamed of this day for years now. A real work shop with all my tools set up permanently.
