Our new home had no hot water so today I did some troubleshooting to find out why.

I found that the upper heating element was very bad and was leaking water onto the wires. This blew out the breaker on the water heater.

I replaced the element myself and got hot water going in our new home.

Next a friend came over to help me build a new adjustable solar panel rack mount.

This mount is on posts which are buried into the ground. The posts and framing are all made out of treated lumber for long life.

We first set up hinge points on the framing and then built the solar panel racks in place.

Next we mounted the solar panels onto the new rack mounts using screws and fender washers.

Two scrap boards hold the entire frame in place for now at a 45 degree angle. I will be using two boards with hinge points and multiple holes. This will allow me to adjust the solar panel angle into the sun for different times of the year.
