Off Grid Living & Building Greenhouse Raised Beds

It was a fine sunny day and the solar panels were topping off the battery bank early. Our winter greenhouse is full of life and growing vegetables. I am building a raised bed for our greenhouse so we can grow even more food.

The off grid tiny house batteries are topping off daily when the sun is shining. I run the freezer during the day and shut it off at night. So far the freezer is keeping its contents nice and cold with no problem.

In our off grid winter greenhouse things are growing nicely so far. We have peas, peppers, lettuce, kale and more. The peas are really growing well in the greenhouse. Although the days are still mild out here at The Off Grid Project the nights get down below freezing.

Everything outside the greenhouse is dead or dying already. This makes the plant life inside the greenhouse that much nicer to see.

I was out in the barn wood pile working on a raised bed grow box. I am using old reclaimed 2x10 barn wood. This is real old wood and is too thick for my saw to cut through fully. This old wood is perfect for grow beds in our greenhouse. It should last many years with no problem.

I have to search for a piece of wood that will do that job. Then I have to dig it out of the pile. Then I have to remove any nails that are in the way. And then, finally I can cut the wood to size for my project.

I managed to get all the pieces cut and over to the greenhouse for assembly.
