Off Grid Winter Greenhouse Planting & Solar Power Status

It was a beautiful warm November day and Melanie and I worked in the greenhouse a bit. This video was recorded before we left for Michigan.

Our last day at the homestead before our trip to Michigan was warm and sunny. We had late spring like temperatures outside and a cozy summer temperature in the greenhouse.

I planted peas and beans in the new raised bed grow box while Melanie worked with some of the plants in the greenhouse.

We are hoping to grow vegetables all winter in our off grid greenhouse this year.

I had to spray soapy water on an aphid infestation already. There were a lot of aphids in the garden this year which ruined our rutabaga crop. I figure they got into the greenhouse and settled on our kale. The soapy water should kill them off well enough.

There were also some tiny little worms all over our vegetables which I sprayed off.

We are using all natural, organic, plant based soap here at The Off Grid Project.

Melanie was outside on the greenhouse porch at one point enjoying the summer like sun.
