Coffee Chat & Some Things Cleared Up & Explained

What happened to my nose. Why snowed in = snowed in. Why my truck tires are bald. Why the greenhouse is important to me. And many more questions answered during todays coffee chat.

Ok, now about my nose. I was not punched in the face. My nose is not broken. It was Felix the cat who did this. He is terrified of the outdoors for some reason. Never wants to go outside. Has only been outside two times in his life and that was for the doctor. I walked in wearing my winter clothes and picked him up. He panicked and clawed me pretty badly.

Felix is normally a harmless teddy bear - but with claws.

We have to drive a mile from the last state maintained road. The last paved road. Then there is 3/4 mile of private dirt lane. Then another 1/4 mile of wild, rough terrain through two openings in the woods. This is a two track path I made with my own vehicles. It is bumpy, rough and untreated.

When it snows here up to 8 inches or more like we just had, we are snowed in. My truck is a 2 wd truck which has been lowered and customized for street use. Its a show truck. A street truck. There is no way this truck is driving through that snow. And anyway its tires are in need of replacement now.

Which brings up another complaint of people. They say I neglected my vehicles because my truck needs tires. This is a normal wear item and the truck needs tires. So what. Everyone goes through tires.

The car has all new tires that I got a year ago. But even getting the cheapest tires I could find they cost me about 600 plus 200 for mount, balance and disposal.

We are not driving the truck this winter anyway. Its a street truck. A show truck. We get compliments everywhere we go with this truck. I am not driving this truck through the salt and slop this winter.

We got the car back on the road for the winter. The car is a tank. It drives like a tank. Feels like a tank. Runs like a tank. It is unstoppable in most conditions. It is great in most weather.

The greenhouse is important to us because we are using the plants for cooking. We have a lot of herbs out there in the greenhouse. These cost money if you were to buy them at the grocery store. So the greenhouse is already saving us money.

The greenhouse is also my battery recharging station. It has the most space for it and it is warm all winter. I am still restoring batteries out here.

And the greenhouse is a work shop for my recycled pallet wood products. It is the most dust free place for varnishing the finished products. And it is warm and dry when I have the wood stove going to the varnish cures fast in there. It is perfect for this job.

The animals are fine. Everyone is asking about the animals. They are all fine. I will have to do an update on them soon.

I hope this video clears up some of the most talked about points in the comments.
