Closing Tiny House Loft Office Walls & Making Shelves

I finally got the last wall of the tiny house loft office closed in today. You can read the full article of todays work here: http://www.thedoityourselfworld.com/articles/article.php?id=11361

I was looking for some 2x2 lumber out in the scrap pallet wood pile when I found the perfect frame for my tiny house office wall. I was thinking that I would have to frame in the wall myself from scratch. But instead I found a perfect frame from a crate that measured 6 x 4 feet. The wall I am building is 6 feet long by 4 feet high at its highest point.

Next I had to cut the angle for the slope of the roof. This was a simple three cuts and it was done.

Back inside the tiny house Melanie helped me to get it into place. This was quite a job considering the tiny house size and the 6 foot wall frame in one piece.

But we got it in place and I fastened it with screws. This ties in the floor to the roof as well and further strengthens the tiny house on wheels.

Next I uses some scrap thin plywood to close in the walls and finish them. This is nice looking wood so it is the final wall finish.

We had salvaged some old headboard shelving in summer that Melanie wanted but it did not work out for her. But for my tiny house loft office this is perfect.

I had to cut out a piece of wood that was just there for looks but closed off some valuable potential storage space. Then I put a piece of plywood in place and had a perfect set of shelves in my tiny house office.

I put all of our pallet wood products in the shelves, getting them out of the living room. Our tiny home living room was getting cluttered from all the products laying around.

Now both the living room and the tiny house office are neat and clean.
