Homestead Gardening & Building Free Shelving From Pallets

Melanie and I have been busy on the new homestead. Melanie is planting flowers and lettuce while I am working on my off grid shop.

Melanie is planting in the raised bed areas around the house. She has put in a bunch of lettuce already and is now putting in flowers as well.

Melanie has also been very busy inside the new house. She has been decorating inside with paintings and prints on the walls.

Melanie is also sewing a quilt for our coming child during her spare time.

Outside I am connecting the solar panels on the new rack. I have connected two of the panels so far. I will wire in the rest later when I get a disconnect box for the solar panel outputs. I plan to get a box this week and wire in the solar panels properly.

I will also be using buried conduits for the wires to protect them.

Later I built myself a shelf in the off grid electronics lab using all recycled pallet wood. This is actually quite beautiful 1x6 lumber and makes perfect shelving.

I used scrap 2x4 lumber from pallets to mount the shelf to the office wall. Some 1x3 boards make perfect supports for the two long boards.

I mounted my new shelf to the wall and immediately loaded it with stuff. this allows me to clear off the table below and get to work.
