Matthew 8:1-4
Matthew 8:1-4 is a passage from the New Testament of the Bible, in which Jesus heals a man with leprosy. Here is the passage in full:
"When Jesus came down from the mountainside, large crowds followed him. A man with leprosy came and knelt before him and said, 'Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.'
Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. 'I am willing,' he said. 'Be clean!' Immediately he was cleansed of his leprosy. Then Jesus said to him, 'See that you don’t tell anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest and offer the gift Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.'"
In this passage, Jesus demonstrates his power to heal by curing a man with leprosy, a disease that was considered incurable at the time. The man approaches Jesus with humility and faith, acknowledging Jesus as Lord and expressing his belief that Jesus has the power to heal him. Jesus responds with compassion, touching the man and affirming his willingness to heal him. The man is immediately cured, and Jesus instructs him to follow the proper protocol by showing himself to the priest and offering the required gift, as a testimony to the religious authorities. This passage illustrates Jesus' miraculous healing powers and his compassion for those who suffer from physical and spiritual afflictions.
